David McLaughlin
Hi there and welcome to my web dreams.
My name is David and I am a Sydney-based performer and writer, and recent adopter of internet technology and narcissistic self-promotion… But how good is it!? AND HOW GOOD AM I?! I’m so glad I’m here and you’re here wow.
A little about me… I graduated from Theatre Nepean in 2006 and since then I have been keeping the dream alive, carving out a career as a performer. I have performed in many plays in Sydney and appeared most famously in Crazy Bastards for the ABC Fresh Blood Series and in the Tropfest Finalist film Y2Gay.
I have created two solo shows: The Cabin which was a hit at both the Mardi Gras and Midsumma festivals of 2017/18 and Talking Deads which was at 107 Redfern for the 2022 Mardi Gras.
I am a part of the comedy troupe Five Servings of Ham (Tangara, Sydney Comedy Fest 2017 & Old Mother Carriage, Sydney Fringe Comedy, 2017).
I have also performed in Sabrina D’Angelo’s Monster/Woman for the Melbourne Writers’ Festival in 2018 and the Femme Festival Sydney and Flying Nun in 2019.
Recently I have performed in the World Premiere at the Hunters Hill Theatre of Mel Morrow’s Pope2Pope, directed by Elaine Hudson.
I am a long time member of ‘Players in the Pub’ directed by Lyn Collingwood.
Between auditioning and castings and learning lines, I also enjoy writing plays.
I am a versatile and hard working actor. Get in touch with Rachel or myself if you have a project that you think I’d be a good fit for!
